Yuuup... The gas station where I get gas is holding a giveaway which will award a Harley Davidson bike to one lucky bastard and all you need to participate is fill up on gas. Filling up on regular gas nets you one coupon, filling up on premium gas nets you two, and filling up on podium gas gets you three coupons. They didn't specify, however, what exactly constitutes a fill up, so I've been filling up pretty much everyday, just a couple liters at a time. It's all the same to me, instead of filling up every two weeks for 100 bucks and three coupons, I fill up every other day for 5 bucks and get three coupons everytime. Never thought I'd be glad to have a gas guzzling Fiat, but here we are :p

I did that when my Check engine light was stuck on, in order to pass emissions I had to confuse my evap system by keeping my tank very very full.

As it turns out, I may have a similar problem... My car doesn't have a check engine light, but it has that pesky "may or may not have a problem with the injection system, frankly we don't know" light that comes on with the engine cold which may be caused by it. I'm calling my car Handles from now on, because every 5 minutes he's like "I have develped a fault" when he's actually just fine.

It's supposed to be a "more premium" type of gas, with minimum sulfur content and up to 95 octanes. It's also the only type of gas with more than 87 octanes available in Brazil, despite what the board to the left says. Since my car knocks a little on 87, I've been using it for the last year or so.

I can't tell you how many variants of regular midgrade premium there is in the US. Every station is different.

Quick story.

My parents owned a gas station with a shop attached when I was growing up. In New Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas, its required to have a gas pumper/attendant do it. Whenever our gas pumper quit/got fired/was sick....I was the sub (for free of course).

One day a guy lost it because he called midgrade "super" and I put in premium (which was referred to as super by a lot of people). He was refusing to pay for his gas until my dad came out and handled it (I was 14 at the time I think). He had been to a different gas station recently that had regular, super, and super premium. Huge over reaction though. I always preferred when they used the octane number instead of it's "name".

And when I was in a wise ass mood and someone asked for "Unleaded" I'd say...they're all unleaded, which one do you want (even though I knew they wanted regular)

...sorry that wasn't as short as I thought

Well, I guess that's better than not having premium at all... Don't let that table fool you, nobody sells 91 octane gas anywhere in Brazil! What you actually get to choose at the pump is regular and regular with additives, which they call premium. Petrobrás is the only one allowed to sell higher rated fuel, which they call Podium, and rumor has it other companies can't legally offer actual premium fuels because of that.
